Chris Houston - Producer, Dance Consultant

His background is gymnastics and dance, with a repertoire of styles ranging from ballet, jazz, theatre, modern, hip-hop to acrobatic partnering. Chris is a stunning dancer, champion acrobat and an inspiring consultant.  Born and raised in Paisley near Glasgow, Scotland, Chris began learning gymnastics at the age of seven.  He entered competitive acrobatics at 14 and by the age of 15 he was a professional dancer performing throughout the United Kingdom.

Chris was a featured dancer and singer in London's West End productions        of Miss Saigon (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), Cats (New London Theatre) and Babes in Arms (Churchill Theatre London).  And he was the Dance Captain for the British production of Peter Pan (KIng's Theatre Edinburgh).  Chris was appointed choreographer for the BBC Television showcase of Michael Flatley's World Tour.  (Michael Flatley is the creator of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.)  He is also an award winning choreographer and has had audiences with HRH Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Edward.

Chris was an instrumental force in the United Kingdom's development of 'Performance Gymnastics.'  His creativity has been seen by thousands of spectators across Europe in events such as the Blume Festival in Gran     Canaria and the Riccione Festival in Italy.  Chris is also the former Acrobatic Choreographer for the British Delegation to the World Gynmaestrada held in Sweden in 1999.

Chris has performed in productions throughout Europe, North America and the Middle East, traveling with the industry's cutting-edge choreographers, directors and producers.  He was a Principal Dancer in the Celine Dion's 'A New Day' Las Vegas theatre spectacular, directed by Franco Dragone, choreographed by Mia Michaels.

Chris was appointed Artistic Coordinator for the Parisian show, Crazy Horse Cabaret at the MGM Grand Hotel and he was a member of Celine Dion's World Tour, Taking Chances.  His dance artistry can be seen on the recently released DVD 'Celine Through The Eyes Of The World.'

Chris can be seen on the Las Vegas stage as a featured dancer and dance captain in the Cirque du Soleil production on the life and work of Elvis Presley, Viva Elvis, directed by Vincent Paterson, at the MGM CityCenter Aria Hotel.

On stage or television, Chris has performed with many stars including Elton John, Jerry Seinfeld, Celine Dion, Sir Richard Branson, Michael Flatley, Justin Timberlake, Oprah Winfrey, Jerry Lewis and Ellen Degeneres.  From the World Music Awards, television commercials, music videos to the annual Jerry Lewis Telethon, Chris continues to push the boundaries of inspired performing arts.

Chris's aspiration is to bring dance, motion picture and live theatrical performance into a new era.  It is a great pleasure for Piccolo Productions to work with this dynamic, young and distinguished artist.

"Experimentation is needed to evolve an exciting vocabulary of dance, which is unique in flavor and moods and becomes the vessel on which the very essence of the production is carried.  Drawing from my varied career as a performer and choreographer, with experience from classic musical theatre to cutting edge dance performance and stunning high level acrobatics, I envisage a fusion of styles which is both pleasing to the eye and astoundingly singular."
